Patricia Mary Sharrow
of Algonac, MI. died Thursday April 26, 2007, in Port Huron Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. Patricia was born May 27, 1936, in Detroit, MI. She grew up on her family’s farm on Atkins Rd. in Port Huron Twp., and graduated from the Beach School and with honors from Port Huron High School. She also attended Port Huron Junior College on an academic Scholarship.
In June of 1954 Patricia married Edward Francis Sharrow at Holy Cross Church in Marine City, MI. Mrs. Sharrow lived in the Algonac-Clay Twp. Area for over 50 years. She and her husband ran Sharrow’s Service in both Algonac and Clay Twp. from 1960 until last July. Mrs. Sharrow enjoyed snowmobiling, and she was Michigan International Snowmobile Champion in 1973. Mrs. Sharrow was also active in local politics. She was appointed to the Clay Twp. Planning Commission in 1986 and became the Chairwomen in 1987. She served on the Clay Twp. Board of Trustees from 1988 to present and was the Board’s Representative to the Planning Commission.
Mrs. Sharrow was preceded in death by her parents, Grant and Alberta Knisley, her sister, Jane Elizabeth Gough, and her son Mark. She is survived by her husband, Edward, her sons Stephen, Michael (Pamela), and James, her daughters Susanne Driscoll, Diane (Richard Clarizio) Sharrow, and Laura (Arthur Jr.) Bianchi, and her 10 grandchildren, Luke, Joe, Frank, Zachary, Kaycie, Caitlyn Sharrow, Bruce and Arthur Bianchi III, and Christopher and Nicholas Clarizio.
Memorial service 10:00 AM Monday April 30, 2007 at the gravesite in the St. Catherines Catholic Cemetery, Algonac, MI., with Fr. Timothy Birney officiating. Visitation Sunday 6-9 PM in the Gilbert Funeral Home, Algonac.
In lieu of flowers the family requests Memorial Donations be made, in Mrs. Sharrow’s memory, to the Algonac-Clay Twp. Historical Society.
