Gilbert “Gil" "Corky” B. Rodger
age 81 of Royal Oak, MI. died June 7, 2014 in his home. He was born December 24, 1932 in Detroit, MI.
Gil was a proud Royal Oak Dondero High School graduate, where he was a sports writer for the school newspaper. He attended the University of Michigan and was a proud alumnus. He served with the U. S. Army. He was a retired Regional Vice President for Comerica. He was an avid sports enthusiast, especially for the Detroit Tigers, Red Wings, and U of M Football. He enjoyed traveling, golfing, coin collecting, and fishing on the St. Clair River. He was a supporter of Greenfield Village, U of M, Detroit Zoo, and the Humane Society. He was a great conversationalist and had an unending positive attitude and sense of humor.
Mr. Rodger is survived by his children Rebecca Laslie, Duncan Rodger, and Stacey (Steve) Wicke, nieces Jennifer (John) Streyte and Suzanne (Chris) Schroeder, his entire loving family and his dog Jake.
A memorial-committal service will be held at 2:00 PM, June 13, 2014 in the Oaklawn Cemetery, Algonac, MI.
