James Patrick Patton
died in Glendale, AZ, on June 9, 2011. He was born on July 3, 1937 in Sault Ste. Marie to Joseph and Edna (Traynor) Patton.
Mr. Patton was the youngest of six Patton sons. He graduated from Loretto High School in 1955 and from Michigan Technological University in 1959.
He married Marie Rollins of Algonac, MI on November 26, 1960. Jim is survived by his wife Marie, their three children, Catherine (Larry) Morgan, Kenneth (Mary Moyne) and David, and two grandchildren, Julieann and Patrick Morgan. He was pre-deceased by his parents and his five brothers, Robert, Gerald, Joseph Jr., Phillip and Michael.
He began his career working on farms, for local construction firms and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, while attending the Sault Branch of Michigan Tech. Upon graduation, Jim had a fulfilling career as a Construction Manager and Project Engineer on a number of heavy and highway construction projects around the world. Jim managed major construction projects in the South Pacific Ocean, Middle East, South America, Alaska, and over ten of the “lower forty eight” states.
He became an avid genealogist upon his retirement in 1999. He eventually traced his roots back to 17th Century Ireland.
