Gerald Edwin “Drake” Meldrum Sr.  
age 87 of Algonac, MI. died July 22, 2008 in his home. He was born January 10, 1921 in Marine City, MI.  He married Anna Arvai on January 31, 1946 in Clark County, Nevada.  She passed away on February 4, 2007.

Mr.  Meldrum served with U.S. Navy as a Sea Bee during WW II and was a member and Past Commander of the Algonac V.F.W. Post #3901.  He retired from the Detroit Edison and enjoyed playing the drums, duck carving and was an avid hunter and fisherman.

Survived by his children Gerald E. (Helen) Meldrum Jr., Patricia (John Bolf) Meldrum-Bolf, Don (Linda) Meldrum, great grandson; Jake Norum, siblings; Ted (Noreen) Meldrum, Henry Meldrum Jr., Mickey (Barb) Meldrum, Jim Meldrum, Harold Meldrum, Betty Dubay, Bernice LaCroix, Richard (Arlene) Meldrum, Nancy (Peter) Avers, sister-in-law Florence Meldrum and a brother-in-law John (Ann) Arvai.  Predeceased by a son Kenneth Meldrum and a granddaughter Michelle Meldrum-Norum. 

Funeral services 2:00 PM  Sunday July 27, 2008 in the Gilbert Funeral Home, Algonac.  Visitation Saturday 1-4 & 6-9 PM.

Memorial donations may be made to the Algonac-Clay Twp. Historical Society or to the Family Wishes.
