Warren R. Fournier
age 94 passed away on May 23, 2012. He was born on June 29, 1917 in Detroit, MI.
Warren’s final resting place will be beside his beloved wife Merle of 60 years at the Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, MI.
He is survived by his five children and their spouses: Warren J. (Jackie) Fournier, Sharon (Gilbert) Wujcik, Donna (Dale) Lindow, David (Jennifer) Fournier and Kevin (Gail Fernandez) Fournier. He was also loved by his many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Warren was decorated for heroism in World War II with two bronze stars. As a veteran of the Battle of the Bulge he was instilled with a determination that served him well during his years on earth. He lived in Algonac most of his life and worked at Chris Craft as a boat builder and later as a union carpenter/construction worker.
His hobbies included duck carving of which every family member has a treasured heirloom. He spent many years hunting and fishing. We are grateful to God for his 94 years of love and life.
Cremation arrangements have been made by the Gilbert Funeral Home, Algonac. A memorial with immediate family members will take place at the Great Lakes National Cemetery on Friday, May 25, 2012.
